Arrrr Matey!

And here's the promised picture of the other finished thing - the Pirate Robert Hat. As with so many of these things, it's incredibly hard to take good photos of it, which means that the pattern bit is less legible on the picture than in real life, where you can actually make out the crossed sabers. Ah well.

I love that hat, and it fits perfectly. It's almost a shame that it is getting nice and warm outside these days, too warm to wear a woolen hat!

I see the crossed sabers! Cool.

It isn't warm here today! We got about 6-8 inches of snow (some of which was falling as graupel, a wonderful German word that I suspect we'll be seeing more of, with changing climate and all). More snow, possibly the conventional kind, is expected later today. Ugh.

Yay!
It's cooled down here again, but spring will be coming. I'll stay optimistic : )

I made the pattern in red and dark blue, but only the dark blue shows the pattern clearly. The structure of the yarn seems to have a bigger influence on the outcome than the colour. So, it's all in the twist again.

That twist thing is coming back to haunt me again and again ; ) but yes, the yarn twist (and how it is influenced by the individual knitting motion) does make a difference in how discernible cables are.
