The summer has come, and it is time to take a break and go on holidays - so from July 13 to August 23, no orders will be sent out. If you place an order during this time, it will be sent off after the break.

From August 15 to August 19, I will be at the WorldCon in Dublin, with a stall in the dealer's hall. Do drop by if you're attending and say hello!

Have a wonderful summer and glorious holidays!

Bovec sheep wool, washed

Dark-coloured Bovec sheep wool, a very nice and surprisingly soft fibre.

Bovec sheep (Krainer Steinschaf) is a red list breed today, one of the few surviving Steinschaf breeds. This type of sheep used to be bred in the alpine regions and is a small, hardy sheep. It still has a double coat, that is longer, smoother hair and soft underwool.

The wool has been washed very gently and thus still contains a little lanolin; small remainders of dirt and debris may also occur. After washing and drying, the wool was fluffed up; it is therefor easy to comb or card, or - if desired - can be spun directly as is.

The wool is sold in units of 100 g. For large amounts or special wishes please contact me per email!
