This, here, is what two and a half hours' worth of spinning looks like on the bobbin:

Not very impressive, right? However, this means there is a lot of space on the bobbin for yarn - which is good, because it means I can spin a really large batch at once and thus have a very long continuous thread, nice for warping.

I'm already curious to find out how many metres will fit onto that bobbin if I fill it up... and I'm pretty sure I will be able to fill it up, as a good 3 kilometres of this yarn have to be spun.

Only not impressive for Muggles! That already is a lot of yarn. I've given a lot of thin yarn extra twist on my spinning wheel lately but this impressive.

Is the mirror helpful?

Thanks
The mirror is immensely helpful, not only for watching the front part of the bobbin that I can't see from my normal spinning position - it also helps to have a side view of the bits I can see, as yarn buildup is much easier to gauge that way. I can really recommend that mirror thing!

And if it's well-spun yarn, it's worth it no matter how long it takes. Good luck with the rest of the job.-

Yes, well-spun yarn is well worth its time! It still tends to boggle my mind, though, to see how much yarn is needed for a puny little piece of fabric... and how long spinning that yarn does take, even with a very fast fancy e-spinner : )
