Shipping to Netherlands possible due to de minimis threshold there!

Due to the new EU regulations on packaging waste, all other shipping into EU countries will still remain paused. Regulations were starting on August 12, 2026. The new regulations is valid for all vendors selling within the EU. There was a discussion in the EU committee on a threshold for small volumes or a memorandum on part of the rules, but unfortunately, it came to nothing.

If you are inconvenienced by this situation, my suggestion would be to write a short, polite, personal note about how you feel directly to the EU commissioner in charge of the department in question. Her name is Jessika Roswall, and you can find a contact email address on her webpage. If there is enough feedback from the public, maybe things will still change. Shipping is currently only available for Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Canada and other non-EU countries with the exception of the US and Great Britain.

Oil llights are a source of light with a lot of history - and very versatile, as any vessel large enough can serve as an oil light. For this, you fill a bowl or glass with a bit of water, top it off with some (vegetable) oil, place the wick-holder on top of it and light it. The amount of oil will determine how long the light will last.

The three-bladed swimmers are made by Glafey in Nuremburg since the nineteenth century. Lighting with the help of an oil lamp, with oil on top of water and a wick in the oil, have been around in the Middle Ages already: Several illuminations show a cone-shaped glass lamp hung with chains.

The cork swimmers measure about 3.5 cm in diameter. The tin contains the swimmer, about 90 wicks in a paper holder, and a pair of tweezers so your fingers can stay clean when changing wicks.

In general, all cooking oils can be used to fuel your oil light. After longer use, oil residue on the swimmer can gum up; this softens with the heat of the flame and can block up the wick, thus extinguishing the flame. If your light dies after a short while of burning, even though you are using a fresh wick and there is plenty of oil available, you might need to clean or replace the swimmer. Impurities in the oil may also lead to the wick getting blocked up and the light extinguishing itself.

I am very sorry, but due to the Brexit regulations, I am not able to sell or ship to the UK anymore.

Unfortunately shipping to the US is currently also not possible!

Because of the new tariff regulations active now, DHL is currently not offering any affordable shipments to the US and the US tax zone of Puerto Rico. I am sorry and hope that this issue will be resolved soon; until then, ordering to an address in the USA is unfortunately not possible.
